Trailer Created for the Sol Wheel
Why did I make the Sol Wheel?
Objective:
Create an affordable sim racing setup that utilizes the Valve Steam Deck.
Key Features:
Cheap and easy to manufacture.
Provides a product-based solution for a growing market.
Personal Motivation:
I’m a huge F1 and racing fan.
How does the Wheel Function?
Original Design:
Utilized a dual-bearing system, 3D printed and manufactured by me.
Created an axis of rotation for the Deck when docked on a table.
Used rubber bands on both sides of the deck to return the wheel to its original position.
Updated Design:
Maintains the dual-bearing system.
Replaced rubber bands with retractable spring mechanisms for tension.
Springs generate enough force to center the Deck at its origin point.
Process of making the Sol Wheel, and revival of the project.
